Italian Festival

The Italian festival in Bratislava this year in an unconventional form. Festival brings the exhibition 8 and 1/2 of Federico Fellini, which contains photos from the shooting of the iconic film of Federico Fellini 8 and 1/2. There is certainly no need to introduce Federico Fellini to the public, his films La dolce vita, or 8 and 1/2 are well known. The exhibition is dedicated to the centenary of the birth of this film genius.

You can find these photos in the wider center of Bratislava, which is a great idea. Fifty previously unpublished photographs document the making of this film. The photographer captured the unique atmosphere during the shooting. Color photographs document Fellini’s work and his unique friendship with Marcello Mastroianni.
 “There was a wonderful interplay between Federico Fellini and Marcel Mastroianni. During breaks or between scenes, they sometimes moved away, had discussions or made jokes. Sometimes they just sat next to each other in silence. The silent moments were extremely attractive to me as a photographer, “recalls the photographer.

The photographs come from the private collection of Antonio Maraldi, curator of the exhibition and director of the Centro Cinema di Cesena, who received the negatives as a gift from the photographer himself.
