The 11th edition of WIENWOCHE brings together transdisciplinary teams of artists, cultural workers, art mediators, curators and activists to address a variety of issues related to their life experiences. We will see socially engaged fashion from Zrenjanin, Serbia, a city without piped water, learn about the right to decent housing, the shared mourning of lost buildings in Vienna and a mining town in Sweden, the criminalisation and food-induced exoticisation of second-generation Asian immigrant workers, and the invisible and underpaid work of Central and Southeast European caregivers. While one project deals with the destructive conditions of the fast fashion industry and the transformation from linear to circular models of production, another project focuses on the house/home as a concept that connects economy and ecology and supports the anti-colonial intervention of racialised bodies in the historical sites of Vienna.
