1. Veganmania Vienna

Veganmania, your favourite summer open-air festival, is returning to Vienna. This year’s event will also take place on the Danube Island! Gather to celebrate the sustainable, plant-based lifestyle, with free admission! Explore the world of plant-based cuisine, from delectable street food to fine raw vegetables, gluten-free specialties, and dreamy desserts. Furthermore, learn more about animal and environmental protection from NGOs, as well as food, fashion, and beauty trends from the festival’s many exhibitors. Wonderful music will be provided by live bands and DJs.

2. Neustifter Fair

Neustifter Kirtag is the place to be if you want to spend some time outside with your family and children while enjoying good food and the atmosphere of a traditional fair. The fair dates back to the mid-eighteenth century, when Neustift winemakers went to Empress Maria Theresa with a harvest crown and requested tax exemption after poor yields put them in a difficult economic situation. So, every year in August, on Neustifter Kirtag, winemakers pass through Neustift and Salmannsdorf, stopping at the wine taverns. Visitors will be entertained by numerous Kirtag stands and a varied programme. There will be numerous stands selling traditional festival food as well.

3. Liquid Market Vienna

Austria’s largest festival for contemporary bar lifestyle. From August 24 to 26, 2023, you may enjoy three days of indulgence culture on approximately 10,000 square metres of inside and outdoor space. Excellent international bars, cocktail culture, workshops, street food, and DJs. LIQUID MARKET happening in Vienna is all of these things and more. This festival offers you around 100 bars from Vienna, Austria, and Germany in one location, where you can sample drink creations, and learn about the various aspects of bar and cocktail culture.

4. Calle Libre Festival

International artists will perform at the Nordwestbahnhof for the 10th edition of the Calle Libre Festival. All that can be expected from July 27th to August 5th, when a separate festival area will be created in collaboration with the City of Vienna and the ÖBB, offering visitors not only art and music but also refreshment and relaxation. There will be live painting stations, workshops, music, children’s entertainment, and plenty of food. As a highlight of this street art and music festival, there is an amazing sculpture park.

5. Vienna Classic Days

The Vienna Classic Days will be held on August 26th this year! For more than 25 years, the Vienna Classic Days have been a tradition, and they have become a cult event where spectators enjoy the look of beautifully restored vintage cars. The rolling museum with around 250 vehicles, located in the heart of a wonderful city like Vienna, provides a unique experience and fascination. This year’s Vienna Classic Days will include some old favourites, like the parade down Vienna’s Ringstrasse and the classic car picnic in Danube Park, as well as some new ideas and special programme items.

6. Kunst am Kanal Vienna

WERK in Vienna is already celebrating its 17th anniversary! And you’re invited to a party on this special occasion! On the first weekend of August, from August 4th to the 5th, you can enjoy free admission to the WERK’s terrace! A small but fine open-air festival with fantastic acts and artists has been planned! After the concerts, the festival continues in the club on Friday and of course, Saturday. So, get ready to be pumped because and get down to business! The line-up includes artists like Felix Kramer, SAEDI and others!

7. dotdotdot Open Air Filmfest

The dotdotdot Open Air Festival is finally back in Vienna! During the festival, you may enjoy the fresh air and the Vienna night sky while watching 120 short films from 40 different nations. Every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday at twilight, there will be open-air short film screenings and film conversations. The highlight, of course, will be the full-length Open-Air Short Film Screenings & Film Talks, which will take place in the Volkskundemuseum Wien’s lawn on numerous evenings throughout the week.

8. Frameout Open Air Cinema

Consider sitting outside on a sunny summer evening, surrounded by bars and art museums. This is exactly what the Framout open Air Cinema has to offer. This open-air cinema is located in Vienna’s Museumsquartier (MQ). Fun is guaranteed with free entrance and a broad selection of films. Most films are broadcast in original English or with English subtitles to reflect Vienna’s cosmopolitan milieu. This year, the festival will take place from the middle of August till early September. So, pick a movie from the varied programme and enjoy yourself and warm summer evenings in the MQ.

9. Vinyl & Music Summer Nights in Ottakring

From 18th to 19th of August, a summer record exchange and vinyl & music get-together presented by radio 88.6 will take place in Ottakring as part of the Ottakringer Bierfest 2023! With free admission, you can expect a vibrant selection of the Vinyl & Music Festival’s well-known blend of sales exhibition and festival. The Vinyl & Music Summer Nights will be held in all weather conditions so do not worry, and come to the Ottakring on the third weekend in August!

10. Summerstage at the Donaukanal

If you’re looking for a cool place where you can spend your evening in a good company, we have a tip for you! The Donaukanal’s Summerstage has a number of open-air bars, many of which are accompanied by live music, outdoor art, and other waterfront delights.
