On August 29, 2026, Vienna’s Gürtel will be transformed into the city’s longest open-air music mile. Over 30 acts on four stages, as well as numerous clubs and venues, will provide live music, DJ sets, art installations, and a lively atmosphere under the neon arches. From ska to indie to reggae – the Gürtel Nightwalk Festival will rock the night. The party will take place between the Alser and the Vienna State Opera.

Throughout August, the “Cinema on the Roof” on the roof of the main library at Urban-Loritz-Platz invites you to romantic movie nights under the open sky. Daily from 8:30 p.m., visitors can expect a hand-picked film program centered around the theme of “Mind Games” – with views over Vienna’s rooftops. Blankets, snacks, and a sunset included.

The Vienna Classic Days will bring a nostalgic glow to the city center on the weekend of August 22nd and 23rd. Around 200 vintage cars will roll through Vienna, transforming the Ringstrasse and Donaupark into a vibrant automobile museum. The grand parade starts at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday at Schwedenplatz, followed by further highlights on Sunday around Heldenplatz and Donaupark. A festival for car lovers and nostalgics alike – admission is free.

For four days – from August 20 to 23, 2026 – Neustift am Walde in the 19th district will be transformed into a vibrant wine festival of tradition, music, and community. The Neustift Kirtag features parades in traditional costumes, historical rituals such as the ceremonial Hauerkrone (Hauer Crown), and culinary highlights in the numerous wine taverns along Rathstraße. Brass music, dancing, and local specialties create a true village atmosphere – just minutes from the city center. A special experience for wine lovers and culture vultures!

At Liquid Market Vienna, over 150 bars, bartenders, and brands from all over the world will present their innovative creations—all drinks are included in the admission price. The Ottakringer Brewery invites you to its legendary beer festival again from July 2 to September 4, 2026. Every Tuesday through Saturday, the brewery’s courtyard transforms into a vibrant beer paradise with live music, food trucks, and over 20 beers – from classics to creative craft beer variations. Special highlights such as the Beer Yoga or Pub Quizes make the festival a meeting place for music, beer, and culture lovers. A summer evening in Vienna has rarely been so atmospheric!

From July 4 to September 6, 2026, the film festival will present music productions such as operas, concerts, and pop highlights daily – with free admission. From August 14 to 24, 2026, the open-air festival “Afrika Tage Wien” will transform the Danube Island into a vibrant venue for African music, cuisine, and crafts. From July 9 to August 9, 2026, the festival will feature over 50 dance performances at various venues throughout the city – from theaters and museums to public squares. In addition, there are more than 250 workshops for beginners and professionals, as well as daily, free open-air dance classes.
