Nusel Courtyards Festival

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the Prague district of Nusle will come alive with the unique atmosphere of the popular Nuselské dvorky festival, which opens local courtyards to the public for one day and transforms them into spaces full of contemporary circus performances, theatre, music, and creative workshops.

The festival traditionally takes place across several locations in Nusle, including the courtyard of Cirqueon, the Mečislavova courtyard, and the courtyard of the Zrno Zrnko café. Visitors can look forward to a full-day open-air program combining art, community spirit, and entertainment for both children and adults.

A major part of the festival will feature performances by contemporary circus artists, theatre shows, and live music. There will also be workshops where visitors can try juggling, hula hooping, and other circus skills. Creative activities such as woodworking workshops, flower stick making, and textile workshops with original circus-inspired prints will also be part of the program.

One of this year’s new additions is a courtyard thrift shop, combining sustainability with local creativity and giving visitors the chance to customize second-hand clothing directly on site.

However, Nuselské dvorky is not just about the program itself – the relaxed neighborhood atmosphere plays the biggest role. The festival creates a space for meeting new people, relaxing, and discovering hidden corners of Nusle that turn into a lively cultural hub for the day.
