From March 9 to 15, 2026, the Czech Republic will once again take part in the global Brain Awareness Week initiative through the Týden mozku (Brain Week) festival.
The main program will take place in Prague at the Czech Academy of Sciences and will offer a week full of inspiring lectures, workshops, and accompanying events focused on the latest discoveries in brain research and neuroscience.
Týden mozku provides a unique opportunity to meet leading Czech experts in theoretical and clinical neuroscience and learn more about how the human brain works, including topics such as memory, emotions, mental health, and modern research technologies. The festival is intended for students, parents with children, and the general public who want to better understand how the brain influences our everyday lives.
The tradition of Týden mozku in the Czech Republic was established in 1998 by renowned Czech neuroscientist Professor Josef Syka. The festival is organized by the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Czech Neuroscience Society. The program takes place not only in Prague but also in other cities across the country.
All events are free of charge; however, prior registration is required due to limited capacity.
