KniŽižkov for children

KniŽižkov dětem 2026 will bring KC Vozovna in Prague 3 to life on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, transforming the space into a playful world of books, imagination, and creativity.

This popular book celebration for children and their parents will offer an afternoon full of literature, art workshops, theatre, and exciting book discoveries.

The event will present a selection of contemporary children’s publishers, including Baobab, Bylo nebylo, Centrala, Meander, Poketo, and Verzone. Visitors can browse the books on site, purchase them, and take them home – perhaps as a new bedtime story. The program will also include a book swap, where you can bring children’s books in good condition that you’ve already read and exchange them for new ones.

The afternoon will feature two creative workshops. Dora Dutková will lead an art workshop inspired by her book To se ti zdá, where children will experiment with stencils, graphite, and ink to create dreamy black-and-white illustrations. The second workshop, led by Eva Volfová, will involve textile crafting as part of the playful project “Dress the Crocodile,” where children will help crocodiles who need new outfits for their adventures in the city.

There will also be a staged reading called Mikro-teatro – Bring a Book to Life, introducing children to contemporary children’s literature through an interactive session followed by a creative activity. The Vozovna branch of the Municipal Library will be exceptionally open as well, allowing young visitors to borrow books on the spot.

KniŽižkov dětem is a perfect opportunity to introduce children to the world of books in a fun and inspiring way, encourage their imagination, and spend a creative Saturday afternoon together.
