KniŽižkov for children

KniŽižkov for Kids returns to KC Vozovna on March 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offering a diverse program for young readers.

The event will connect literature with theater, creative workshops, and a book market featuring publishers Baobab, Meander, Verzone, Běžíliška, and Centrala.

In the library above Vozovna, Jakub Folvarčný will perform a puppet show, Karl’s and Jaromír’s Tale, inspired by Karel Jaromír Erben’s fairy tale The Apple Tree Maiden. Children can also participate in two creative workshops. Tereza Vostradovská, author of Hravouka and Hravocesta, will lead a spring workshop where kids can create moving paper flower puppets. Filip Zatloukal will run another workshop focused on comic collages inspired by the story Mezitah, in which the heroes search for valuable parts in space junk.

The event will also include a book swap where children can exchange their already-read books for new ones. The Vozovna branch of the Municipal Library will remain open all day, allowing young visitors to borrow books on the spot.

3:00 PM – 3:45 PM | Library stage – Jakub Folvarčný: Karl’s and Jaromír’s Tale (puppet show for children aged 5+)
4:30 PM – 6:00 PM | Small hall – Comic collage with Filip Zatloukal (drop-in workshop for children 5–12 years old)

Entry to the entire event is free. For the theater performance, we recommend arriving early as capacity is limited.
