Philharmonic Hall- A trip to the Realm of Music

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, a magical musical program, Filharmoniště: A Journey to the Realm of Music, will take place in the cozy space of Studio Itaka in Prague’s Vinohrady district, delighting children aged 3 to 8 years.

This interactive concert combines music, dance, and discovery in a unique experiential form that awakens children’s imagination and love for music.

In the Realm of Music, young visitors will learn to dance the waltz and explore rhythms full of passion, such as tango, flamenco, and habanera. They will meet musical animals that come to life in well-known compositions and discover which musical piece accompanied the first steps of humankind on the Moon. Moreover, they will get hands-on experience with music – playing rhythm instruments or exploring the sounds and rhythms of their own bodies.

The entire program will be led by two top Czech musicians. Monika Urbanová, the first violinist of the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, is passionate not only about professional performances but also about introducing music to children. Her talent for engaging young audiences ensures that even the youngest attendees will be captivated. Joining her is Hedvika Mousa Bacha, one of the leading Czech harpists, a master of this royal instrument. Hedvika brings the beauty of the harp closer in a playful and engaging way, drawing children into the fascinating world of sounds and melodies.

The program lasts approximately 45 minutes and is tailored to children’s needs – no one expects the little listeners to sit still the whole time; instead, it’s a space for play and discovery. The hall will open 20 minutes before the start, allowing for a comfortable arrival and preparation. Parents can take advantage of the café with refreshments, which can be brought directly into the hall, making this family experience even more enjoyable.

Studio Itaka, where the concert takes place, is a cultural space focused on fostering creativity and artistic activities for both children and adults. Located at Korunní 957/35, Prague, its welcoming atmosphere and excellent accessibility make it the perfect venue for artistic encounters.
