Frankenstein The Musical

Let yourself be captivated by the story of young genius Victor Frankenstein in the adaptation of the American musical Frankenstein, performed on January 9 and 10, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Divadlo Na Prádle in Prague 1.

This musical, inspired by Mary Shelley’s iconic novel, premiered in New York in 2008.

Studio Dendrion, a team of young artists, secured the rights from Broadway Licensing and debuted the musical in Prague in April 2024, marking its first-ever production in the Czech Republic. The project is directed by talented student Linda Keegi Lopatková, featuring performances by university and high school students, as well as younger pupils and their friends.

The Story of the Musical
The plot takes place in late 1793, when explorer and captain Robert Walton discovers a castaway on an ice floe in the Arctic. The man, on the brink of death, introduces himself as Victor Frankenstein and recounts his extraordinary tale.

Frankenstein narrates his scientific obsession that led to the creation of life and the tragic consequences that followed. The musical delves into the boundary between life and death and the repercussions of crossing that line.
