Advent concert King´s school

On December 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, a special Advent concert by the boys’ choir and orchestra of The King’s School from Sydney, Australia, will take place in the heart of Prague.

This prestigious school ensemble, renowned for its musical excellence and Christian values, brings a rich and original program to Czech audiences, combining Australian culture with Advent traditions.

The concert repertoire features new compositions by Australian composers Dan Walker and Luke Byrne, written specifically for this tour, as well as sacred vocal works, larger instrumental pieces, and arranged musical compositions. Highlights include Viam Domini for choir and orchestra by Luke Byrne, selections from Mass of Deliverance (Benedictus and Agnus Dei) by Dan Walker, and the orchestral piece Tantum Ergo. Another standout is the famous work October by Eric Whitacre, arranged by the ensemble’s conductor, Tyler Wilkinson.

Under the skilled direction of Tyler Wilkinson and Paul Taylor, these young musicians will showcase not only technical precision but also the energy and passion they bring to their performances. This concert promises to be a unique celebration of musical creativity, youth, and cultural connection.

The event also carries a charitable purpose. Voluntary donations will go to Cesta domů (The Homecoming Path), an organization providing home hospice care and counseling for those with terminal illnesses and their families.
