Book lovers, independent publishing enthusiasts, and anyone interested in contemporary literature should not miss Knihex 16, taking place on June 5–6, 2026 at the Museum of Literature in Prague 6.
This popular book fair traditionally brings together readers and independent publishers in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Unlike large commercial book fairs, Knihex offers visitors the opportunity to meet publishers in person, learn the stories behind the books, and discover unique literary works from both Czech and international publishing houses.
However, Knihex is much more than just a book market. Throughout the weekend, visitors can enjoy a rich accompanying program featuring author readings, book launches, discussions, workshops, performances, and creative activities for both children and adults. The event provides a unique opportunity to meet authors, translators, and other personalities from the contemporary literary scene.
The program will include discussions on current cultural topics, presentations of newly published books, and debates focused on literature and translation. Families can also enjoy children’s theatre performances and creative workshops, making the event suitable for visitors of all ages.
A traditional second-hand book stand will once again be part of the festival, allowing visitors to bring books they no longer need and exchange them for other titles through voluntary contributions. This reflects Knihex’s commitment not only to promoting reading but also to encouraging a sustainable approach to books.
Knihex 16 is the perfect opportunity to spend a day surrounded by books, discover new authors, support independent publishers, and enjoy a cultural event in the inspiring setting of the Museum of Literature.
