The Prague Sounds Festival 2025 will take place from November 1 to 19, 2025, bringing its 29th edition of world-class performances to Prague.
The festival once again presents outstanding international and Czech musicians across genres — from classical and jazz to electronic, hip-hop, and experimental music.
Formerly known as Strings of Autumn, Prague Sounds explores the connections between diverse musical worlds, offering audiences unique and intimate concert experiences on a variety of Prague stages. This year’s edition highlights powerful female voices, boundary-pushing electronic artists, and genre-defying jazz innovators.
Among the festival’s stars are several Grammy Award-winning artists, including Mexican singer-songwriter Silvana Estrada, Pakistani musician Arooj Aftab, and acclaimed jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant. In a Czech premiere, the American percussion ensemble Sō Percussion will perform alongside trailblazing composer and vocalist Caroline Shaw, a five-time Grammy winner.
Fans of electronic and experimental music can look forward to performances by Alva Noto and Fennesz, presenting a tribute to the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, as well as a mesmerizing audiovisual show by Oneohtrix Point Never. The acoustic side of the festival will be represented by Kurt Wagner, frontman of Lambchop, who will perform an intimate set with pianist Andrew Broder.
The jazz lineup features the world-renowned drummer Nate Smith, performing in a trio with Michael League of Snarky Puppy.
Prague Sounds will also spotlight emerging voices in British and Czech hip-hop. One of the highlights will be Berwyn, a Trinidad-born artist from London whose work blends rap, R&B, and poetry. Representing the Czech scene, rapper and producer Idea curates Idea’s Choice (November 13, La Fabrika) — a special evening featuring Champion Sound, James Cole, Rest, MC Rene, and the experimental Brno-based group Laokoon.
Prague Sounds 2025 offers a vibrant cross-section of today’s most exciting global and local music. In the magical atmosphere of autumn Prague, music becomes a universal language connecting genres, generations, and cultures.
