Would you like to see beautifully covered roofs of the old town in all its details, but also the river and the castle all in one? Come to Prague’s metronome which belongs to Letná park on the hill. The metronome is only used informally; the official name of the installation is “Time Machine.” It is 25 metres tall with the pendulum. The pendulum is propelled by electricity and moves in 60-degree circular arcs slowly. The shoes dangling from the wire that drives the metronome are amusing. They appear to be hung there on purpose and by chance. The metronome isn’t particularly eye-catching at first glance, but it’s well worth a look.
The metronome was built in 1991, on a place where a monument to Stalin used to stand.
You can come there from nearby Prague’s Castle and have a nice walk around!
