After several years of renovation, the Industrial Palace at Prague’s Exhibition Grounds is once again on full display. On the weekend of October 17 and 18, visitors will have the opportunity to tour its renovated interiors and see what the building, which most people know primarily from trade fairs and exhibitions looks like.
The Palace was built in 1891 for the Jubilee Provincial Exhibition. In 2008, its left wing was damaged by a major fire, and the building’s restoration took many years. The renovation successfully preserved the building’s historic appearance and restored its distinctive steel structure and glass-enclosed central hall.
The open house days will offer the opportunity to walk through the premises at your own pace and see the results of the restoration free of charge. It will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.- last admission is at 5:30 p.m.
If you’ve only ever seen the Industrial Palace from the outside or as a venue for trade fairs or exhibitions, you can take advantage of the weekend to visit it and explore one of the historic landmarks of Prague’s Exhibition Grounds.
