The French Film Festival 2025 will take place from November 20 to 26, 2025, bringing Prague audiences a week filled with cinematic gems from France’s most talented filmmakers.
Now in its 28th edition, the festival will feature 14 pre-premiere screenings, including several titles from this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Among the highlights are Colors of Time by Cédric Klapisch, a multi-generational drama intertwining the fates of ancestors and their descendants; Divine Sarah Bernhardt, a grand biographical film about the legendary actress; and The Flood, a sweeping historical epic starring Mélanie Laurent and Guillaume Canet.
The program will also include Vincent Munier’s documentary Whisper of the Forest, a breathtaking exploration of nature, and The Architect by Stéphane Demoustier, focusing on the mind behind Paris’s La Défense. Sports fans will enjoy Free Player by Camille Perton, offering a unique look behind the scenes of French football.
In addition to these screenings, the festival will present a Czech Critics’ Choice competition, the Short Film Evening, a tribute to Alain Delon in honor of his 90th anniversary, and a retrospective dedicated to actress Émilie Dequenne. It will also revisit major French hits from 2024 and 2025.
The French Film Festival 2025 remains a celebration of artistry, storytelling, and emotion — a reminder that French cinema continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
