Prague Folklore Days

From July 17 to 19, 2025, the heart of Prague’s Old Town will come alive with color, rhythm, and tradition during the Prague Folklore Days, the largest folk dance festival in Central Europe.

This beloved summer event welcomes dozens of dance and music ensembles from across Europe, Asia, and Africa, offering a unique chance to witness the diversity of traditional culture through music, dance, and costume.

The festival takes place on outdoor stages throughout the city, where audiences can enjoy live performances showcasing folk dances and traditional music. A key part of each show is the presentation of local crafts and cultural expressions from the performers’ regions, making every performance a rich cultural encounter.

Dance plays the leading role—each group brings its own movement language, from spirited Balkan rhythms to delicate Asian choreographies. These artistic expressions speak across cultures, proving that dance and music are universal languages of connection.

The highlight of the festival is a vibrant parade through the historic streets of Old Town, where performers in full costume fill the city with festive energy.
