For five October days, Prague will transform into the capital of design – from October 8 to 12, 2025, the 27th edition of the international Designblok festival will take place.
The largest showcase of design and fashion in Central Europe this year carries the theme Courage, offering hundreds of installations, exhibitions, and accompanying events.
The festival will feature more than 250 designers, studios, and brands from the Czech Republic and abroad. The exhibition program will spread across several iconic Prague locations – the Křižík Pavilions at Výstaviště Praha, the Queen Anne’s Summer Palace, the Museum of Decorative Arts, and the Rudolfinum Gallery. Visitors can look forward not only to new collections and products but also to a rich program of lectures, conferences, fashion shows, and discussions.
The central exhibition Courage: Between Unity and Diversity at the Museum of Decorative Arts will focus on women in architecture, design, and applied arts. It will present works by more than twenty prominent Czech female creators across generations – from Eva Eisler and Liběna Rochová to Lucie Koldová and Šárka Radová.
Among the star guests of this year’s edition will be British photographer Mary McCartney, whose exhibition Mary McCartney by PLAYCE will be on display at the Rudolfinum Gallery’s Loggia. Also featured will be the solo exhibition Skin Care by Czech artist Kateřina Vincourová.
Designblok will also host top names in global design and architecture, such as Patricia Urquiola, Erwan Bouroullec, and the Norwegian studio Snøhetta. The program will further include the Designblok for Kids pavilion, designed to captivate the youngest visitors and their families.
With more than 40,000 visitors each year, Designblok ranks among the most important cultural events in the Czech Republic. In 2024, the prestigious magazine Wallpaper** named it the most playful design festival in the world – and the 2025 edition promises to live up to that reputation.
