Enthusiasts of architecture, history, and urban spaces have plenty to look forward to. The 16th edition of the nationwide Architecture Day festival will take place from Thursday, October 1, to Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
This year’s edition features the apt motto “I Dwell, Therefore I Am.” The festival focuses on housing as one of today’s most pressing and important topics.
You can look forward to guided tours led by architects, urban planners, and historians, showcasing everything from historic apartment buildings, villas, and workers’ colonies to post-war housing estates and modern residential projects. Buildings and unique interiors that are usually off-limits to the public will also open their doors during the festival.
In addition to the main program, a rich schedule of accompanying events awaits, including guided bicycle tours, lectures, discussions on housing affordability, themed quizzes, exhibitions, and creative workshops for children.
This year, the festival will also commemorate significant figures: the 150th anniversary of the birth of Tomáš Baťa, the 140th anniversary of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the 135th anniversary of architect František Albert Libra, and the 90th anniversary of Václav Havel.
International guests are also expected; for instance, the lecture series will feature architects from the Finnish studio Talli Architects, who will present innovative and affordable housing models from Helsinki.
