On May 17th, Budapest’s cinema scene will come alive for one unforgettable night: Artmozik Éjszakája – The Night of Art Cinemas is back! An evening where the Művész, Puskin, Toldi, Kino Café, and Tabán cinemas will screen films all night long, featuring premieres, festival favorites, cult classics, and the finest of recent cinema. The rules are simple: purchase just one wristband, valid for all locations and screenings – and let the cinematic adventure begin!
Művész Cinema offers a rich all-night lineup across five screening rooms, blending art-house films, festival-award winners, and special premieres. In the Chaplin Room, the night kicks off with the premiere of If Autumn Comes, followed by the legendary 2001: A Space Odyssey. The Bunuel Room features Leo Carax’s new film It’s Not Me as a premiere highlight. Meanwhile, the Huszárik, Bódy, and Tarkovszkij rooms showcase gems such as Lee, Moments of Paris, and closing with the emotional Emilia Pérez. Művész promises a perfect mix of timeless classics and fresh cinematic treasures.
Kino Café Cinema, located in the heart of the city, welcomes film lovers with two screens offering a diverse selection. The main room opens with the award-winning It’s Not the Time of My Life, continues with Kálmán’s Day, and One Percent Indian, followed by the touching Radio after midnight. In the smaller room, charming and thought-provoking films like Blessed Are the Cheesemakers, I’m Still Here, and the intense Barbarians at the Gate await viewers. For the early risers (or the tireless), Julie Keeps Quiet and the acclaimed Black Spot close the program.
Puskin Cinema sets the scene with three distinct screening rooms. In the Metropolis Room, audiences can catch the premiere of Diamanti, followed by the powerful documentary Cologne 75, and later the moving Perfect Days and Breakfast on the Mountain. The Amarcord Room delights with The Future is Ours, The Worst Person in the World, and Lovable among others. Animation fans will be drawn to the Körhinta Room with its lineup of Japanese masterpieces: Kiki’s Delivery Service, The Boy and the Heron, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle.
Tabán Cinema offers a more intimate setting with an equally impressive selection. In the Kubrick Room, the night starts with the sharp satire Triangle of Sadness, followed by the visually stunning Grand Tour, and later Dream’s Hero. The night deepens with provocative films like Queer and the stirring Kinds of Kindness. Meanwhile, the Fellini Room features a vibrant lineup: Deluge, the spiritual journey Four Souls of Coyote, the animated spectacle Ruben Brandt, Collector, and whimsical works like Robot Dreams and Memoirs of a Snail.
This year’s Artmozik Éjszakája promises an unforgettable journey through the world of cinema, a magical night for those who wish to escape everyday life and lose themselves in stories on the big screen.
