Open Breweries Day

On May 17th, Hungary’s finest craft breweries will open their doors once again for the Open Breweries Day, offering an unforgettable behind-the-scenes experience! From Budapest to the rolling hills of the countryside, visitors can enjoy brewery tours, guided tastings, and exclusive events across the country. The event is open to everyone who is curious about how Hungarian craft beers are created and who wants to celebrate the art of brewing.

Several renowned breweries will participate in this year’s Open Breweries Day. In Budapest, visitors can explore FIRST Craft Beer, Monyo Budapest, and Horizont Brewing, each offering special programs. Across the country, exciting destinations include the Pécsi Sörfőzde in Pécs, the Szent András Sörfőzde in Békésszentandrás, the Vaskakas Sörfőzde in Győr, the Gyertyános Sörfőzde in Zalacsány, the Bolyki Serház in Eger, and the Szentkői Craft Beer in Kazincbarcika. Near Lake Balaton, Hedon Brewing Co. will also join the celebration with their own unique offerings.

It’s important to note that hübris brewery will host their open day a week later, on May 24th, with their own set of special programs.

Each participating brewery prepares a distinct schedule for the day, featuring guided tours, tastings of limited-edition brews, the launch of brand-new beers, live music, and delicious street food. Visitors will have the chance to meet the brewmasters in person, learn the secrets of craft beer production, and taste exclusive beers that are not available elsewhere.

Most locations offer free entry or minimal consumption requirements, making it easy for everyone to take part in this nationwide celebration of Hungarian craft brewing. The organizers encourage everyone to explore the creativity and passion behind Hungary’s best beers – whether it’s a refreshing IPA, a rich porter, or an exciting fruity ale.
