Literary Festival & Book Fair

The autumn Margo Literary Festival and Book Fair will take place between 12 and 15 October at the National Dance Theatre. Visitors can meet local and foreign authors, read recently published books or even have their favourites signed. What’s more, there will also be exciting literary talks and evening concerts.

-Eszter Babarczy, Kriszta Bódis, Tibor Bödőcs, Lajos Jánossy, Gabriella Nagy, Péter Pető, Lajos Parti Nagy, Kata Tisza, Dániel Varró and former Margó Prize winner Anita Harag will present their new books.
-The Margó Prize for the best first book of prose will be awarded again this year, the Margó Books series published in collaboration with Helikon will be presented, and the four days of events will reveal which books are worth reading in the coming months, as #readingisamust.
-The festival will welcome more foreign guests than ever before, including Andrés Neuman, Jón Kalman Stefansson, Luiz Schwarcz, Sigriður Hagalin Björnsdottir and others.
-Special programs that push the boundaries of music and literature will also be staged in the evenings at the autumn Margo:
