The last dose of an authentic, raw, and captivating theatrical story! Join us one last time at the ZOO station, where the future means only time until the next dose and where hope fades like the light in the eyes of adolescents with needles in their hands.
This intense theatrical experience is based on the true story of 13-year-old Christiane F., who shocked Europe with her description of the drug epidemic.
The 1970s in what was then West Berlin were a battlefield and a graveyard for those who sold the last pieces of their dignity, the last remnants of their childish souls, for a dose of heroin. Tears, sweat, blood—all of this seeps through her story, which repeats itself daily like a vicious circle anywhere in the world, including here. Times have changed, heroin has been replaced by other drugs, the world is facing other problems, but the heavy loneliness, the indifference of parents and those around them, and the feeling of being lost remain… Let yourself be drawn into the existential problems of adolescents in an authentic theatrical adaptation of a well-known book that is as harsh as life itself!
“For a moment, I imagined how wonderful it would be if my mother were still waiting for me. I bought some drugs, took a hit, and went back to the station. I needed money in case I couldn’t find any customers for the night and had to go to a hostel.” From boredom to the disco, from the party to the hardcore crowd, and from there a one-way ticket to the station, where life revolves around whether you have or don’t have?
The cult story of Christiane F. and her friends from West Berlin, swept up in a drug epidemic, is a slap in the face to society that doesn’t hurt to deliver once in a while. The production by a young team of authors presents the well-known story from the perspective of the main character, whom the audience meets both at the beginning of her addiction and at its imaginary end. They experience infatuation, disappointment, hope, resignation, disgust, and hatred with her. A whirlwind of raw emotions that stick to you and accompany you all the way home.
The adaptation was taken on by young theater artists and the cultural platform OZ Artefakt, who, despite the heavy nature of the story, brought a dose of humor and youthful energy to it.
