The 10th anniversary edition of the children and youth craft competition IN THE LAND OF CRAFTS 2025 opens its doors!
We invite children and young people aged 8 – 16, individual participants as well as collectives to the diverse land of crafts, where natural materials such as wood, wire, thread, clay, natural knitting and of course glass painting will be yours for the taking. All you’ll need are skilled hands, an open mind and an endless imagination.
Registration is open until 14 April 2024! Take on new challenges and put all your mind and heart into your work. And remember, it’s not important to win, but to get involved. Let the joy of creating and discovering traditional craft techniques be your great motivation.
The best works will be part of the travelling exhibition In the Land of Crafts 2025 and will be awarded with nice prizes.
Enchanted in wood
Creation of works using carving techniques (figurative and zoomorphic sculptures, vessels, toys, etc.).
Notes for wire
Use of tinkering techniques (spiral/loop weaving) to make utilitarian and decorative objects from wire.
Threads do not go crazy
Use of traditional textile techniques and decoration methods to create utilitarian, decorative and clothing items (weaving, bobbin-making, weaving, braiding, knotting, netting, embroidery, felting, etc.).
Painted glass
Traditional method of painting/underpainting on plate glass, painting on glass vessels, etc.
Braiding with netting
Use of the technique of knitting to make utilitarian and decorative objects from natural materials (wicker, straw, scales, luba, etc.).
Moulded clay
Making utilitarian and decorative objects from clay.
Things not everyone knows
Free theme – combinations and intersections of several material groups and traditional techniques.
