Vietnam Day will take place this year on 18 August in the Palma area in Bratislava. You can look forward to a great cultural programme, workshops and sports activities for all age groups. The main programme will feature performances by traditional Vietnamese ensembles, a photography exhibition, a film screening and a fashion show. And as always, we are the most looking forward to Vietnamese cuisine.
Already on 18 August, we cordially invite you to take a walk through the Vietnamese garden, which will open at 11:00 a.m. in the Palma area in Bratislava. The rich cultural programme includes traditional Vietnamese ensembles, performances by second-generation Vietnamese singers living in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as a fashion show of beautiful Vietnamese Áo dài costumes.
In addition, you can look forward to various workshops for children and adults, where you will be able to try your hand at painting on traditional Vietnamese Nón hats or on typical children’s toys Tò he. You will experience the authentic atmosphere of a Vietnamese alley with street vendors, chess players or bikers.
You will also find an altar with a pagoda and other typical features.
The festival will also include a photography exhibition by visual artist Flower Nguyen, a screening of the award-winning film “Dear Daddy” by Czech-Vietnamese director Diana Cam Van Nguyen and a screening of “Bo Hai” by Duc Duong.
Don’t forget to enjoy Vietnamese cuisine, which will be represented by popular street food dishes.
What’s the best part? Admission to the festival is free! We’d love for you to come and bring your loved ones. We are looking forward to seeing you and to sharing a time full of culture, fun and delicious food!
