Vietnam Day

Vietnam Day will take place this year on June 1, 2025, at the BA Nové Mesto Cultural Center. You can look forward to a great cultural program, workshops, an exhibition of traditional clothing, and a program for children. And as always, we are most looking forward to Vietnamese cuisine.

You can look forward to:

– an exhibition of Vietnamese Ao Dai clothing 🪭
– a cooking class and tasting of typical Vietnamese cuisine 🥢
– interactive workshops for children focused on Vietnamese culture⛩️
– a performance of traditional Lion and Vietnamese national dances 💃🕺
– Discussion about the book “Everything That Connects Us” with author Kvet Nguyen 📖
– Sale of souvenirs from Vietnam and many other activities.

The event is co-organized by the Union of Vietnamese Women in Slovakia. The event will be attended by the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Slovakia, Pham Truong Giang.

Program:

11:00 – 11:25 – dragon dance and fan dance

11:25 – 11:55 – opening ceremony with a speech by the chairwoman of the Union of Vietnamese Women in Slovakia, representatives of the Vietnamese community living in Slovakia and the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Slovakia Pham Truong Giang

11:55 – 12:05 – exhibition of traditional Ao Dai clothing performed by Vietnamese children and youth

12:05 – 13:10 – NEM RAN spring roll cooking course

13:10 – 13:40 – traditional Vietnamese coffee and tea ceremony

13:40 – 14:30 – discussion with author Kvet Nguyen about the book “Everything that connects us”

14:30 – 14:50 – dragon dance

14:50 – 15:10 – exhibition of traditional Ao Dai clothing in performed by Vietnamese children and youth

15:10 – 15:20 – playing the flute of the Meo nationality

15:20 – 15:45 – solo dance

15:45 – 16:00 – dancing with lanterns

16:00 – 16:30 – playing the flute of the Meo nationality

16:30 – 17:00 – dancing with umbrellas

17:30 – 18:00 – dance “Come to us, among the Vietnamese!”

18:00 – 19:00 – video presentation about the rich cultural life of the Vietnamese
Throughout the day, visitors will have access to an exhibition with the possibility of taking photos of Ao Dai clothes, painting figurines, a gastro zone with typical Vietnamese dishes and selling souvenirs.
