During the first long weekend of May, one of Budapest’s most beautiful locations, the City Park Ice Rink (Városligeti Műjégpálya), will host one of the year’s most colorful outdoor events: the Városliget May Festival!
From May 1 to May 4, four days of entertainment, music, joy, and delicious treats await all those who want to celebrate the spring days with a truly vibrant festival experience.

The Városliget May Festival offers a rich variety of programs for every age group: families, children, groups of friends, and even those who simply want to enjoy a relaxing day outdoors.
Entry to the event is free, allowing everyone to become part of this lively, modern take on the traditional May Day celebrations.

Every day the stage will be filled with diverse programs:
On Thursday, May 1, festivities begin at 11:00 AM with a children’s concert by Bóbita and Bendegúz, followed by the charming Makk Marci’s Adventures. In the afternoon, superheroes like Deadpool, Wolverine, and Elektra will take over the stage in a spectacular costume show, followed by a vibrant cocktail show, a rockabilly concert by Slick Chix & the Roosters, and a musical evening with Gitano. The day will close with a concert by the popular singer Dér Heni.

On Friday, May 2, fairy tales will set the tone: the classic King Matthias play and the cheerful Csalavári Csalavér performance kick off the day. Later, children’s favorite Panni and the Puppies will take the stage, followed by a concert from the popular Kiss Kata Band, an energetic breakdance show, and a concert by singer Mohamed Fatima. The evening will conclude with the vibrant performance of the “queen of mulatós music,” Nótár Mary.

On Saturday, May 3, the family fun continues: young ones will be welcomed by Réka Farkasházi and the Tintanyúl Band, followed by a magical journey to Miamanó’s Fairyland. In the afternoon, a Clown Parade featuring Lujzi and Majzi and the interactive play Adventures in the Round Forest will delight the children. In the evening, the popular group Children of Distance will entertain the crowd, followed by a performance from Oláh Gergő, and finally, DJ Dominique will keep the party alive.

On Sunday, May 4, the final day also promises exciting programs: the morning kicks off with the classic Hungarian cartoon Vízipók-Csodapók (Water Spider-Wonder Spider), followed by a spectacular stilt-walking performance titled Perpatvar. Then, the cheerful Little Elves will take the stage, followed by the lively RHS DJ Show. In the afternoon, Bódi Csabi will bring the good vibes, followed by a performance from hip-hop group AK26. The event will conclude with a surprise performance to end the festival in style.

Throughout the entire festival, visitors can indulge in a wide range of gastronomic delights: local vendors will offer freshly made foods, sweets, refreshing drinks, and traditional May Day treats. In addition, a mini amusement park with rides, carousels, bumper cars, and other attractions will ensure fun for both children and adults.

The Városliget May Festival invites everyone to celebrate the power of spring and the joy of community – offering unforgettable moments for both young and old alike.
