Vietnamese (non)Christmas

Have you ever wondered how Vietnamese people celebrate Christmas or what their biggest holiday, Tết, means to them? If so, don’t miss the event Vietnamese (Non)Christmas, which will take place on December 6, 2024, from 10:00 to 18:00 in Prague 1.

This unique event bridges Vietnamese and Czech traditions, offering a chance to understand the cultures that closely coexist in our country.

Throughout the day, you’ll have the opportunity to taste traditional Vietnamese dishes, which are an essential part of Tết celebrations, while enjoying a warm Czech punch. The program also includes a simulation of the Vietnamese Tết, where you can experience the atmosphere of a family gathering led by a Vietnamese guide. A Vietnamese tea ceremony and the chance to decorate Czech Christmas cookies will also be featured.

For creative souls, there will be workshops where you can make your own moss terrarium or Christmas decorations. The day will conclude with a raffle offering attractive prizes, ensuring plenty of fun.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Vietnamese community and students from the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, who have contributed their ideas and perspectives to the program. Its goal is to promote mutual understanding between Czechs and Vietnamese, showcase the beauty of both cultures’ traditions, and create a space for sharing experiences.
