Francophone Literature Day

Come and join the true celebration of the French literature on 22 June 2024 at the French Institute in Prague!  The annual Lire en fête event dedicated to Francophone literature, poetry and theatre is now in its second year and will offer a great atmosphere full of fun, creativity and good food and drink.

This year, the event will have a closer look into French writers and Prague.

Programme:

• The annual sale of books from the French Institute’s media library: immerse yourself in a great selection of French books at incredible prices and replenish your home library.
• Book Swap: Swap your reading titles with other literature lovers and take home your next favourite book.
• Let yourself be introduced to the world of comics with the talented illustrator Lucie Lomová
• Literary presentation and discussion:
• Come and listen to the discussion “Écrire (à) Prague” with Jérôme Bonnetto and Anne Delafotte Mehdevi, two French writers who have lived in Prague for some time or still live here.
•     Discover the results of the writer-in-residence of playwright Sheïlly Inangomy within the project “Prague, City of Literature”;
• enjoy a special interview with writer Anne Delaflotte Mehdevi!
• Gastronomic tastings.
• End the day in style and share your poetic, literary or musical creations, the stage is yours!
