Budapest International Organ Festival

If you’re looking for something special and you love classical music, this concert series is sure to please. For two months, you will have the chance to hear better and better organ concerts in the Main Parish Church in the city centre. The church, with its great acoustics, also provides opportunities for many international artists to perform.

The Budapest International Organ Festival at the Main Parish Church in Budapest from 5 May to 30 June 2024. The month-long event will feature internationally renowned Italian organist Silvio Celeghin, organist Roman Perucki (PL) of Gdansk Cathedral, Hungarian organist János Pálúr, organ and improvisation teacher at the Liszt Academy and organist at the Reformed Church of Fasor, and the festival’s founder and artistic director Zsolt Máté Mészáros. The concerts are free!

“This year, visitors to the Budapest International Organ Festival can expect a special programme of events, as I have asked all the organists to put together a programme that will give us an insight into their national music cultures and to choose at least one piece that will showcase our common values. This year’s programme will be extremely colourful, with many special performances that Hungarian audiences will be able to hear for the first time, and concerts that will also highlight what Hungarian artists have given to the world. Through culture, we can build bridges and friendships with each other, which I think is particularly important in these times.” – says the artistic director.
