From 15 November to 1 January, the Christmas market in front of St Stephen’s Basilica will offer a magical Advent atmosphere. The highlight of the event will be the evening light painting on the façade of the Basilica, as well as delicious food, mulled wine and handicrafts. Children and adults alike will enjoy the festive market and the ice rink.
At the Basilica Christmas Fair 2024, a Christmas tree nearly 12 metres high will provide a true Christmas atmosphere, crowned by a nativity scene, a monumental Advent wreath and the lighting of Advent candles. The Advent candles, which symbolise Faith, Hope, Love and Peace, are lit every Sunday of the week to the accompaniment of heart-warming Christmas programmes.
The Christmas Fair will feature a colourful Advent programme, a free ice skating rink, a selfie point, a spectacular blacksmith’s workshop, local craft exhibitors, exciting gastronomic delights and a wonderful light painting on the façade of the Basilica during the most beautiful festive season of the year!
