Veganmania, your favourite summer open-air festival, is returning to Vienna this June! This year the event will take place at the MQ (MuseumsQuartier). Celebrate the sustainable, plant-based lifestyle with free entry! Discover the world of plant-based cuisine, delicious street food, fine raw food, gluten-free specialities and fantastic desserts. You can also find out about animal welfare and environmental protection as well as the latest trends in nutrition, fashion and beauty from the festival’s many exhibitors. Enjoy wonderful music from live bands and DJs.
Every year, thousands of people take part in this wonderful and colourful event known as VIENNA PRIDE. Why? To show their support for the LGBTIQ communities. The famous rainbow parade and the rainbow run are the highlights of the event. You can take part in various events and help us remind everyone that we are committed to a discrimination-free society in Austria and elsewhere. Bring your own banner or flag, fill your little heart with love and take part in this year’s Vienna Pride.
The AMADEUS Festival Vienna, a major annual event, aims to spread the beauty of classical music through open-air concerts on the picturesque campus of the AMADEUS International School in Vienna. In the few years of its existence, it has gained a large fan base that appreciates the unique blend of classical music and open-air atmosphere. This June, the festival will present numerous top classical music artists, including Nostalgie, Ensemble 11 and Lucilla Rose Mariotti.
This year, from 1 June to 15 September, KINO AM DACH invites you to an evening cinema experience on the roof of Vienna’s main library. The 20th edition of the city’s highest open-air cinema presents current film highlights and festival successes. For almost three and a half months, a film will be shown every day from 9 pm. The festival is organised in collaboration with partners such as the Vienna Libraries, FALTER, FM4 and RADIO WIEN.
The Danube Island Festival takes place from 21 to 23 June on the Danube Island. This year’s programme will be even more colourful, diverse, interactive and, of course, inclusive. You can look forward to a wonderful time listening to music from different genres and discovering new artists. Just in time for the start of summer, there will be three days of international and national music, culture, sport and fun on the Danube Island. The festival is open to the public and admission is free.
The Vienna Children’s Literature Festival takes place from 19 to 25 June 2024 at the Odeon Theatre. With 50 events and 1,000 books, the festival presents the best of children’s literature and invites young readers to get in touch with artists and authors. With free admission, there is a wide range of activities on offer, including book exhibitions, creative workshops, reading performances, storytelling theatre and concerts.
It’s finally time again for the annual summer night concert in front of Schönbrunn Palace! The concert will take place in the same format as always. With free admission, you can simply stroll into the Schönbrunn Gardens, find a seat in the audience and listen to the music on a hopefully balmy and pleasant summer night on 7 June. Come and enjoy the soothing melodies in the beautiful surroundings of Schönbrunn Palace.
This year, the Südwind street festival will take place on the last two days in June! Join us and experience a lively weekend on the campus of the University of Vienna. The festival is a colourful mix of party, sustainable and fair shopping and a platform to get in touch with different associations. Enjoy live music from all over the world, visit NGOs presenting their work and discover new eco-friendly shopping opportunities as well as a themed stage. Don’t miss the food stalls offering culinary delights from all over the world.
The Long Night of the Churches is approaching. More than 300 parishes and communities all over Austria as well as Christian organisations and institutions have once again prepared an interesting programme with church music, lectures and other events. Once a year, Vienna plays host to the essence of the Waldviertel, the Waldviertelpur Festival. For three days, the Rathausplatz square becomes the hub for local delicacies, from baked goods to fine wines.
