On the first Friday in September, Vienna’s markets open their doors until late into the night. During the Long Night of Vienna’s Markets, 17 markets throughout the city stay open until 11:00 p.m., offering a unique blend of shopping, culinary delights, culture, and entertainment.
Visitors can discover fresh produce, sample culinary specialties, and experience the city’s cultural diversity with live music, performances, and family-friendly programs. The event transforms shopping into a festive communal experience – ideal for families, foodies, and culture enthusiasts.
In addition to the 17 established locations, the market space at the Naschmarkt and the organic farmers’ market on Freyung are new additions to the 5th edition of this popular event. Together with the Alszeilenmarkt and the Mazzuccomarkt in Seestadt, they transform all of Vienna into a vibrant promenade. Over 150 hours of art, music, and diverse show acts provide top-notch entertainment at all participating markets.
The popular supporting program also offers some special highlights: The first 10,000 guests at the market office stands will receive a free Vienna Markets tote bag. Anyone who spends the evening browsing the markets and collects stamps from two different markets by 9:30 p.m. will also have the chance to win one of 230 overflowing gift baskets filled with delicious market products.
