On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Vienna’s Zieglergasse in the 7th district will once again transform into a vibrant meeting place for literature and culture enthusiasts.
This year’s Zieglergasse Literary Mile offers visitors a full program of readings, music, discussions, exhibitions, and workshops.
The program will take place at more than ten different venues. In addition to the central main stage, cozy establishments like froemmel’s conditorei and toma tu tiempo, renowned cultural institutions such as the Literaturhaus Wien (Vienna Literature House), and other locations will serve as backdrops for the diverse cultural program.
The program kicks off with an opening concert by jazz musician Carlos Emilio.
Throughout the day, numerous renowned Austrian and international authors will read from their works. Among those participating are: Laura Freudenthaler, Milena Michiko Flašar, Verena Stauffer, Ellen Dunne, Sandra Gugić, and Hubert Weinheimer.
The Literature Mile traditionally concludes with a closing concert – this year featuring Fuzzman.
There’s also plenty on offer for young readers. A diverse children’s program with interactive readings and creative workshops awaits.
