dotdotdot Film festival

The open-air festival organized by dotdotdot is finally here. During the festival you can watch 120 short films from 40 different countries while enjoying the fresh air and the Viennese night sky. Tickets and programs with all films are available on the official dotdotdot festival website.

Evening open-air short film screenings & film talks every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at dusk in the garden of the Volkskundemuseum Wien, in case of bad weather in the Great Hall. Admission, festival bar & free entry to the museum from 60 minutes before the start of the event. Free seating, no reservation required.

𝐝𝐨𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐭 and 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐬𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦 𝐖𝐢𝐞𝐧 are celebrating 10 years of a sizzling liaison in the service of cinematic – and any! – diversity. For four festival weeks, films, talks and the chirping of crickets will fill the nights in the secluded museum garden and transform the baroque walls into a reflective surface for the dazzling range of contemporary short film creation.

On the occasion of its 10th anniversary year, dotdotdot is focusing this year’s 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐭 on the idea that inspired the founding of the festival in 2015: 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐟ü𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞! What role does film play in the self-representation, self-empowerment and self-image of diverse communities? Film screenings, film talks and workshops.

This year, the collaborative networks in our cinema garden are once again glowing: we are very much looking forward to a series of events in dialog with long-standing and much-loved festival partners that expand the cinematic space into other dimensions. Music performances, readings, stand-up comedy and exhibition tours.

The weekly jour fixe for lovers of narrative and technical finesse! The boundaries of time and space are suspended when we take stock of animated film “𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚”. 𝐉𝐨ã𝐨 𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐳𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐳, winner of the 2023 Audience Award, will be gracing the festival with numerous films that have inspired his career.
