Kaleidoskop returns to Karlsplatz again this year for its fifth edition celebrating film and cinema cultures in public spaces with a film festival of diverse urban societies. For around two weeks, Kaleidoskop offers summer evenings with current cinematic works that bring the diversity of coexistence in urban spaces to the screen.
On 15 evenings, the screen is transformed into a kaleidoscope of cinematic forms, urban spaces, everyday realities and stories from seventeen cities, from the metropolis to the periphery and beyond. Every evening, the film screenings are framed by transmedia intro events such as concerts, performances, readings and conversations with artists, performers and activists. Kaleidoscope focuses on linguistic diversity and also offers participants a selection of accessible film evenings for the hearing impaired and people with hearing impairments.
