For those who enjoy walking through the ruined halls of a medieval castle this is the right event for you. Aggstein castle been built on the hill near the shore of Danube and is known to be a home to the Pirates who have plundered the waters of Danube in the past. Built in the 12th century on a 300-meter-high hill, the ruins now serve as a touristic place and are situated in the heart of a wine growing region called Wachau.
The castle has its own tavern and café where you can take a little break from exploring. They also offer a treasure hunt game for your little ones where they will experience the life of the famous Pirates from Aggstein while you´ll be able to relax.
It is opened every day from 9 AM to 4 PM and it is accessible for people in wheelchairs! Dogs are also allowed!
