Spargel is a 25-year-old collective from Vienna, at home in all genres and deeply rooted in the illusory world of burlesque entertainment. The music alternates with delightful fairy tale motets, beer-hazy Balkan folklore and elegiac swan song that seems to be blowing from the purgatory on the outskirts of Vienna. On the t-shirts of the enthusiastic asparagus fan, you often read declarations of love, such as “We love asparagus”, or you hear the crowd loudly calling for tuberculosis. Anyone who has already seen the band knows that asparagus is a cult.
