A total of 11 bands will play on 2 stages. On the other two stages there will be troubadours. Good food/drink and nice company is promised.

The host will be NANNE GRÖNVALL who, together with MARIA RÅDSTEN and PETER GRÖNVALL, will also visit GATHERING OF KINGS with her band ONE MORE TIME.

RUSS BALLARD makes his first tour of Sweden in 47 years! Russ was originally a guitarist, keyboardist and singer in The Roulettes. Then he went on as a singer and guitarist in the band Argent, but it was as a songwriter that he broke through with thunder and lightning when he wrote songs that became hits with artists such as Rainbow, Kiss, Santana, Uriah Heep, Night Ranger, America, Ace Frehley, Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, yes the list can be made as long as possible. But during all this time, Russ Ballard has also had his own career and released no less than ten full-length albums of melodic rock under his own name.

DARE with singer Darren Wharton (who was also a keyboardist in Thin Lizzy) released their critically acclaimed debut album “Out of the Silence” back in 1988. Since then there have been 9 more studio albums and the band has toured extensively with their melodic, atmospheric rock.

This year marks 40 years since British DEMON released their masterpiece, “The Plague”. A magnificent record that is as fantastic now as it was when it was released in 1983. Now the band comes to Rocknytt Cruise and performs this masterpiece in its entirety. Of course, the band will also throw in their hits in the setlist.

The Swedish project GATHERING OF KINGS, created and run by Ron and Nina Dahlgren who own Rocknytt, has gone from strength to strength. A “Swedish Phenomena” would be a rather sloppy explanation perhaps, but the band actually consists of a huge number of musicians, especially singers. This is an ingredient that makes each album so interesting and varied. Along with world-class songwriting, of course. Epic AOR/Melodic hard rock with magnificent keyboards and choruses that sit like a pancake in a windshield. The band will also be visited by ONE MORE TIME on stage!

PERFECT PLAN from the hockey town of Örnsköldsvik in Västernorrland, came out of nowhere when they released their first album “All Rise” in 2018. Quickly, Perfect Plan made an impact in the AOR world. Lead singer Kent Hillis’ career has also gone from strength to strength and is now also the lead singer of American band GIANT.
Prepare yourself for a hefty dose of top-notch melodic hard rock from Norrland!

Another band with Thin Lizzy connections is GRAND SLAM. After Thin Lizzy disbanded in 1983, Phil Lynott formed the band Grand Slam, which included guitarist Laurence Archer. The band toured extensively in 1984 and wrote a number of songs, including “Military Man” which was released in 1985 on Gary More’s album “Run For Cover”. But because of Lynott’s drug problems, they never managed to get a deal with a record company and then, as we all know, Phil Lynott died in 1986. Now Laurence Archer has resurrected Grand Slam and recorded all the old songs on the album “Hit The Ground”.

Swedish HOUSTON who released their debut album back in 2010 and is now on the reputable Frontiers Music srl and has received great reviews worldwide!

NWOBHM legends WEAPON launched their career by accompanying Motörhead on their 32 UK shows in 1980, following the release of Ace Of Spades. The band released an acclaimed single featuring the songs Mad Mad World & Set The Stage Alight before imploding after getting caught up in a bad management contract.
In the 2000s, the original line-up reunited to play at the Headbangers Open-Air Festival in Germany. Shortly after, a permanent comeback was made and over the next few years two new studio albums, Rising From The Ashes (2014) Ghosts Of War (2019) were released along with Set The Stage Alight – The Anthology, featuring songs recorded by the band in 1980.
Last year, founding member and vocalist Danny Hynes, who has been living in Sweden for a few years, started writing songs with Robert Majd (Captain Black Beard). The songs form the upcoming album “New Clear Power” and will be released worldwide on May 19 on Pride & Joy Records. The album features a number of Swedish musicians and guest appearances by Steve Mann (Michael Schenker Group) and Tino Troy (Praying Mantis).

It is very rare, perhaps even unheard of, to book a band that has not yet released a single song. But in the case of EMOTIONAL FIRE, we think this exceptionally cool band should make their debut on our cruise, because this is really good. Expect melodic rock/AOR à la 80s with lots of keyboards, energy, great choruses and vocals (4/5 of the band sings). The whole thing is performed with a charming attitude by a bunch of awesome musicians that you will all fall in love with! One single has been released at the time of writing and three more will be released in the spring.

In October 2022, CAPTAIN BLACK BEARD released their acclaimed album “Neon Sunrise” and have since then appeared at festivals around Europe as well as supporting H.E.A.T. and Bloodbound.
The band has a solid history with six albums in total. In addition to their catchy and uplifting melodic hard rock, it is the energetic live performances that characterize the band.

REMEDY, formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 2022, is a sophisticated modern melodic rock group whose debut album was a huge success in Europe, selling out in just two weeks.
Remedy’s sound is strongly influenced by the 80s but with a modern twist. Critics have praised Remedy’s album, calling it “album of the year” and praising it for its exceptional quality. The band is rapidly gaining international recognition for their work.

Every real cruise obviously needs a host who is also totally in love with rock music, especially the melodic rock and AOR that we offer. So that’s why it was easy for us to pick in a blonde whirlwind in the form of Nanne Grönvall. She also thought it would be so much fun to go on this cruise that she brings her entire band One More Time who will visit Gathering Of Kings on stage!

For those of you who for some reason do not know who Nanne is, just start name-dropping bands like Sound of Music, Peter’s Pop Squad, thirteen times in Melodifestivalen, several hits in his own name and as a songwriter. You get the picture. It’s hard to get more popular than that.
We love her!

Friday, April 21 at 17.00 we leave Stadsgårdskajen in Stockholm with Viking Cinderella and set course for Mariehamn on Åland. The boat is back in Stockholm on Saturday April 22 at 14.00.

Booking confirmation or booking number, together with a valid ID document, must be presented at check-in.

There are check-in machines in the terminal where travelers without vehicles can check in. The check-in machines open approximately two hours before the departure time of the ship.

Passenger and cabin check-in starts about 90 minutes before departure time. Passengers traveling without a car should be ready for check-in at least 30 minutes before departure time.

We recommend arriving at the port of departure 60-90 minutes before departure time.

Once on board and you have found your cabin, there is a café, several restaurants with à la carte and of course Viking’s fine buffet table where you eat and drink as much as you want. The first sitting at 17.00 and then they let in new people every half hour. Remember to book your seat before you go on board!

On the return journey, a cruel brunch buffet is served between 09.00-13.00.

If you come by car, we recommend the parking garage at the terminal. However, a bus to the ferry is recommended!
