1. Darya & Månskensorkestern

The start of this year is going to be blessed with the annual Darya & Månskensorkestern (Moonlight Orchestra). As per year, this group is going to bring you an orchestral pleasure for your ears. Even though their music is composed of sad musical pieces, it is still a pleasure to hear traditional orchestra accompanied by hypnotic voice of Darya. You can find them at Fasching on 6th January but bring enough tissues just in case.

2. Dawood Sarkhosh

Dawood Sarkhosh is a prominent artist that escaped the horrifying regime of Taliban. As one of the refugees from Afghanistan, his life and his work has been severely marked by his experiences, courage and will to live a better life outside of his home country. This year, he is visiting Stockholm to share his love for art - music, poetry, lyrics with the theme of his beloved home country, no matter the regime. Join him and his fans in Uppsala on 6th January.

3. DRAFT! exhibition

Konstfack is definitely a hatching place for talent, creativity, love, passion and yearning for becoming a multitalented handicraft artist. With the rise of popularity of handicrafts in recent years, this university gathered all the most talented students to present their best pieces of work - be it ceramics, glass, jewellery, textile pieces and more - to public. If you are interested in seeing how talented these young adults are, you are most welcome to join them on 13th to 14th January.

4. The Baboon Show at Debaser

The Baboon Show is a Swedish rock´n´roll band formed in Stockholm in late 2003. Their crazy, energetic and fantastical pieces have reached the ears of people all around the world and this month, they are back to perform live during their "God Bless You All" tour that starts in their home town on 13th January. Tickets can be purchased online so be sure to grab them while you still can. Enjoy the madness of true Swedish rock´n´roll!

5. Stadion Marathon

Christmas and then New Year's Eve are those special occasions for cheat days when people try to stay healthy - and no worries! It is natural to enjoy the festive food with your loved ones because that is what makes it cozy. But with the start of the new year, it is time to burn those calories. Join fellow runners for a stadion marathon in Stockholm Olympic Stadium.You can choose which track is best suited for your needs - 10km run, half-marathon or full marathon.

6. Salsa vs Swing

Chicago Swing Dance Studio invites for one of a kind battle between amazing Latino dances - salsa and Latino inspired swing! Everybody surely knows salsa but do you know how epic swing is? Swing was inspired by the energetic and funky Latino music and is a source of great joy for eyes and for body. Which one is better is only for you to decide but it never hurts to learn or see another type of hyper dance specially if it is provided by one of the best places in Stockholm to practice both.

7. Bruce Dickinson

Bruce Dickinson is an UK based singer, composer, musician, singer of Iron Maiden and so much more! This multitalented singer is coming to visit Stockholm for a one of a kind meet and greet - with a two-section event. Firstly, he will share information about his life but in the next part, you get to ask him your burning questions. Is n´t that a dream for all Iron Maiden fans? You can come meet him in Lilla Cirkus area on 17th January.

8. Goat

Goat is a Swedish alternative and experimental fusion band that deeply mixes different genres - from experimental rock to worldbeat and even afrobeat. All this makes for a very unique musical experience. Goat, who originated in Gothenburg, will be visiting Stockholm for a live show for anyone looking for different music and embracing the pagan side of life. They are excited to meet you on January 27.

9. Salsa at Biblioteket

One salsa event is never enough for those who love this breathtaking dance. Bibioteket welcomes you to a huge salsa dance event where you will be joined by various artists performing groovy tunes, but also live DJs will delight your ears with different mixes. But it's not just salsa that will take over the floor - there will be mambo too. Even if you're a beginner, you're welcome to join in, enjoy a drink and learn some of the fascinating moves.

10. Weyes Blood

At the end of January, you are welcome to check out Weyes Blood - an American band specialising in mixing classic, orchestral music with noise type of music. This band was publicised by many well-known musical magazines that helped to boost the knowledge of this band on an international scale. On 30th January, they are planning a trip to the heart of Sweden and you can find them in the cozy place that is Berns. Tickets are in high demand so do not hesitate to buy them online.
