Prague Independent Film Festival 2025 will take place at Lucerna Palace in Prague 1 from September 19 to 21, 2025.
The festival will showcase the best of world independent cinema, offering original voices and bold stories from across the globe. Since its founding in 2016, the event has become a space where filmmakers and audiences meet, creating a unique atmosphere united by a love of film.
This year’s edition will open on September 19 at 5:00 PM with a special script presentation of Come Monday, introduced by award-winning American director Graham Streeter, known for Imperfect Sky (2015) and Unfix (2023).
On the following day, September 20 at 6:00 PM, Lucerna Cinema will host the screening of I Never Said Goodbye. The film will be personally introduced by Russian actor Artur Smolyaninov. The director is Ukrainian filmmaker Yevheniy K’bančik, who has been devoted to independent cinema for over twenty years and whose work has been recognized at festivals in Tokyo, Berlin, and New York. His style blends fiction, documentary elements, and magical realism. The evening will continue at 7:30 PM with a diverse block of short films by international creators, presenting their latest work.
The final day of the festival, September 21 at 6:00 PM, will feature the psychological thriller The Reckoning directed by Alex Breaux. The film will be personally presented by legendary American actress Kristin Griffith, known from Woody Allen’s Interiors (1978). Inspired by Guy de Maupassant’s novel Pierre et Jean, the story follows Brian Connacher, a man who, after years of sacrifice for his family, faces new revelations connected to his father’s last will.
Prague Independent Film Festival 2025 promises not only a high-quality film program but also opportunities to meet distinguished filmmakers and cinema personalities. It is the perfect choice for anyone seeking authentic film experiences beyond the mainstream.
