Czech Press Photo 2024 Prague

From January 10 to April 23, 2025, the New Building of the National Museum will host an exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the prestigious Czech Press Photo competition.

This annual event showcases the best in Czech and international photojournalism, offering a unique perspective on the past year’s events through the lenses of talented photographers.

This year’s competition attracted 256 photographers who submitted over 4,500 images across eight categories. The exhibition will feature not only the winning photographs but also a curated selection of other entries that capture significant social, cultural, and political moments of the year. In total, over 500 printed photographs and more than 250 digital images will be on display, including projections. The work of eighty photographers will provide visitors with a rich visual exploration of the world through their eyes.

The exhibition will also include a diverse accompanying program featuring discussions with photographers, workshops, and activities focused on photojournalism. Organized in collaboration with the National Museum, the event offers visitors a deeper insight into the world of journalistic photography.

Once again, the exhibition includes the Czech Photo Junior category, dedicated to young photographers from elementary and secondary schools. Nearly 1,500 images were submitted to this category, with the best being exhibited not only at the National Museum but also in an outdoor display in Nové Butovice, where the photographs will be presented in larger formats.
