Prague will once again open up in a different way this year. From May 18 to 24, 2026, the 12th edition of the Open House Praha festival will take place, giving the public free access to more than one hundred buildings across the city, including many places that are normally inaccessible.

The festival is one of Prague’s most popular architectural events and every year attracts thousands of visitors eager to discover both famous and hidden architectural gems of the city. The main festival weekend will take place on May 23 and 24, when historic palaces, elegant villas, industrial buildings, and modern architectural projects across Prague will open to the public free of charge.

This year’s edition will focus on the transformation of the city, the restoration of historical buildings, and the new use of structures standing between the past and the present. Visitors will therefore have the opportunity to discover Prague not only through architecture, but also through the stories of individual places and their transformation over time.

The festival will also feature a rich accompanying program including debates, guided tours, lectures, walks, and exhibitions. The organizers also place strong emphasis on accessibility for the wider public, which is why special tours will be prepared for children, visitors with visual or hearing impairments, and foreigners living long-term in Prague.

Open House Praha is not just an architecture festival, but also an opportunity to discover the city from a new perspective and step behind the doors of places that remain closed to the public for most of the year.

When: May 18–24, 2026
