Join the watching of the interesting documentary film “Heaven” that has been nominated fro the Czech Lion, which is a personal confession of journalist Tomáš Etzler intertwined with the story of a village orphanage. What is more, the projection is going to be accompanied by Tomáš himself, who will have the discussion after it.
In the film, the everyday raw reality that Tomáš experienced first-hand in China for seven years contrasts strongly with the microcosm he discovered in the northeast of the country. Nebe directly and indirectly alludes to some of the biggest themes of modern China: the one-child policy, human rights violations, lack of religious freedom and corruption. It also demonstrates the huge difference between the values of the orphanage, such as self-sacrifice, tolerance or love of neighbour, and those of the totalitarian communist government.
