New Prague Dance Festival

Dear friends and dance lovers from all over the world, we invite you to the 28th New Prague Dance Festival.

We hope that all dance studios/groups/artistic companies have the much needed time and especially the peace of mind to rehearse and prepare so that we can meet together here in Prague in the summer of 2024.

Participants will be: YOU and DANCE – classical, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, folk; choreographic work and all forms of expression related to the art of dance.

There will be a theatre stage for participants to showcase their choreographic works and creations, scenic performances of dance or performances that will compete for prizes in various categories: Classical Dance, Modern Dance, Jazz-Hip Hop, Folklore, Latin Dance, Choreography, Scenic-Expression Dance, Pedagogy, Dance Talent, Flower Bud, Costumes, Prix New Stage, Dancing Hand, GRISHKO International AWARD – the Prague Dance Festival partner prize with a voucher for 1,000 EUR, Junior GRAND PRIX – the prize for the best ensemble of dancers under 13 years old, including a voucher for 500 EUR and finally for the unique crystal cup, the main prize GRAND PRIX PRAHA 2024 with a bonus of 1 000 EUR for the best group – ensemble (+ NEWS the organizer will provide free participation for the leader of the group (1+1) in the next festival (NPDF 2025) – the whole program including workshops and accommodation with PP), which will be awarded by a jury composed of members of the Academy of Musical Arts Dance Department of Charles University, Czech Culture, Ballet of the National Theatre in Prague and international members: (Stuttgart Ballet, Grand Ballet Genéve, Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, Kasay Dancing Company).

The Festival – The competition is open to all private and amateur dance schools, groups and institutions without age limitation, as the purpose of the festival is to provide a unique opportunity for all to live an emotionally charged experience in the magical atmosphere of this beautiful city in the immediate environment of art and friendship between all who live for the love of dance and believe in the joy that is the art of dance.

710 groups between schools, organizations, artistic associations, dance universities from all over the world, 10212 dancers with 2245 choreographies participated in the past editions, showcased their choreographic and artistic creativity and many enthusiastically celebrated their new success by returning to our magical capital and our festival for the third year with many new ideas, ready to meet again and confront their dance creations with new friends and dancers. During this great international dance meeting, all the participants will present their culture in front of a warm audience and the officials of the embassies of the visiting countries at the festival, which in its NEW form takes place, among others, in cooperation with the National Theatre, the City of Prague and the Main Partner, GRISHKO – Dance Wear, one of the leading companies in the field.

We realize the importance of your participation and we appreciate it very much: our organization has created a rich artistic-cultural and touristic program, in which you will be provided with the maximum and careful assistance of our collaborators (interpreters – guides with great experience from previous editions) teachers and technical support staff.

Moreover, this dance meeting is the only original international meeting in the world of amateur dance organized by a unique composition of professionals who respect the true lovers of the art of dance, because “without credibility, dance has no meaning”.
