The STROMKLANG Festival is Vienna’s first one-day festival and will once again take place on 3 stages in Spittelau, in front of and in the club das WERK Wien. The festival focuses on the diversity of Austrian musicians and combines live concerts and electronic music in one place. The best music quality is guaranteed again this year and, like last year, the festival is free of charge. Come and enjoy that day with us!

RANGLEKLODS
(20:30-21:45 on the outdoor stage)
The electronic wizard alias Esben Nørskov Andersen is back and in his element. Take 90s house with a touch of Eurodance, add piercing vocals, playful synths and a groovy four-on-floor – sprinkle some Rangleklods eccentricity on top and you have the danceable “Song We Used To Play”. Inspired by his youth in the suburbs – memories of friendships both lasting and fleeting are artfully captured by the soundscape surrounding them. With nostalgia at the centre, Rangleklods has created a unique bridge between melancholic songwriting and his futuristic electronic craftsmanship. “It’s a song about a friendship that has faded. You move away, forget to keep in touch, and eventually the relationship is just a beautiful, blurry memory that you hold on to. And the lyrics, just like the friendship you look back on, also fade – only the melody is persistent and remains.

FARCE
(19:15-20:15 on the outdoor stage)
Veronika J. König (*1997 in the Black Forest), studied in Vienna, swapped black metal and punk for the computer while still in her teens – FARCE was born. First EP and concerts in Vienna’s underground, discovered by journalist Katharina Seidler, airplay on FM4. In 2018, the Austrian festival hat trick of Popfest, Donaufestival and Hyperreality succeeds, through the album “Heavy Listening” reaches kings attention across Europe. FARCE remains experimental, but becomes more refined, more accessible. 2020 next release, Trauma Bounce, which makes it into the FM4 charts and worldwide radio, and the single ,,Déjà Vu” with Aether Kombo, which becomes a No. 1. Cooperations with Fauna, Clara Luzia, Aether Kombo, Soap & Skin. FARCE is (co-)producer* of acts like Anthea, Sakura and Juno Lee. At home in the feminist underground as well as the international avant-garde, König is passionately committed to promoting young talent in the queer music scene. In May 2022, the new album “Not To Regress” will be released, eliciting a tear of movement even from the stone walls of St. Stephen’s Cathedral.

BOSNA
(20:30-21:30 on the indoor stage in arch 333).
Hibernation captivates with a seductive soundscape and effective arrangements. Hypnotic loops, catchy guitar riffs and the melancholic voices of Pete Prison IV and Sticky Lenz interweave with the rough drums to form a dense melodic unit. As a duo, Bosna play with the phenomenon of an abstract unity in a world of individualism on their debut single. In the accompanying DIY video: Everything is red. Are we conscious and aware enough to choose what to hold on to or what to let go of? Pete Prison IV (Vereter, Mekongg) started Bosna in 2016 as an acoustic noise solo project and with Sticky Lenz (Just Friends And Lovers, Lonesome Hot Dudes, Lime Crush) on drums the project thrived. The results are spectacular, as the pair offer a glimpse into their collective psyche.

COLLNICK + HALL
(20:00-22:00 on the indoor stage at Bogen 331)
Perfect Symbiosis
“Electronic sound art”
Coolnick + HALL call their productions, Coolnick contributes melody and vocals, HALL provides a good portion of technical finesse, driving underground and a special sound experience through the use of modular synthesizers. A mature balance that creates electronic music with careful polish – rhythmic, lively, melodic, deep and detailed. The two produce tracks and perform as a live duo.
Preview from their first album “Metamorph” in an exclusive mix on Soundcloud.

LAN REX
(18:15-19:00 on the outdoor stage)
“Lan Rex aka Lens Kühleitner confronts forces, moves through large spaces and breathes steady waves of sound that balance the push and pull of our present. As a further development of the solo project Absatz1, Lan Rex represents the solidification of many years of musical experimentation, de/conceptions and new paragraphs. While Absatz1 largely resisted repeatability, Lan Rex, having become more interested in fixed song and sound structures, opens up a new approach. In 2021, the EP ‘Absatz1’ was released on the Viennese label Tender Matter. Lan Rex combines melodic vocals in many voices with techno and dark wave elements to create pop songs that defy common forms. The lyrics are an interplay of experiences, fragments, introspective explorations, and explorations of feminist activism, giving listeners space to create their own. The EP ‘C’, released in May 2022, emerged from a commission from the Hyperreality Festival and draws something more than a semicircle around desiring and desired sounds. Many are found, many remain to be explored.”
