This year, DOX has prepared a programme full of games and interactive meetings revolving around contemporary art, design and architecture. These weekend events will have you surrounded by works of art, at workshops led by lecturers, guaranteeing that you will enjoyably spend your free time by sharing creative and memorable moments with your family.

Programme:

BADIUCAO: MADE IN CHINA

MADe IN CHINA is the first group exhibition of works by the Chinese artist and activist who goes by the pseudonym Badiucao. The artist, who has attracted international attention in recent years with his protest activities, is currently living in exile in Australia.

Contemporary artists, often established on the global art scene, enter into dialogue with artists classified as art brut to offer their interpretation of themes of power, powerlessness and malaise and to comment on current political, social, racial and gender issues.

Life and Work, Work and Life. A tribute to an extraordinary personality of Czech art, painter, sculptor and illustrator Věra Nováková. The exhibition seeks to show the story of a rich and deep life full of twists and turns, search and hope.

Evergreen Summer Cinema

An exceptional venue overlooking the Gulliver airship, large screen, one art film every Thursday. With headphone sound, delicious small plates and refreshing drinks. This is our summer cinema on the roof of the DOX+ hall.

The art of coping

The ability to engage against injustice requires a good deal of courage. And a sense of humour can come in handy in unexpected ways. Badiucao, a Chinese artist in exile, has both. Family art workshop for the exhibition BADIUCAO: MADE IN CHINA.

The Jewish writer Maria Linde is a recent Nobel Prize winner. But her harmonious family life begins to crumble when she succumbs to the charms of a young immigrant, Nazeer. Sweet End of the Day is screening at the DOX+ Summer Cinema on the terrace.

The Stasi secret police apparatus and the cultural scene of East Berlin are at the forefront of this drama set in the former GDR. The film has won numerous awards, most notably the Oscar for Best Non-English Language Film. We are screening in the summer cinema on the terrace of DOX+.

Jiří Levíček is one of our most distinctive jazz personalities. In his latest composition, which he composed for the SOČR together with his wife Chaazi, he tells the story of a fairy who leaves her underwater home and goes to land to find a medicinal plant called moraine.
