VárkertFest

One of Budapest’s most atmospheric early summer festivals is returning to the banks of the Danube: VárkertFeszt is back on June 6–7 at Várkert Bazár.
For two days, one of the city’s most beautiful cultural venues will be filled with concerts, outdoor programs, movies, DJ sets, family activities, and relaxed summer vibes.

What makes VárkertFeszt special is the mix of experiences it offers at the same time: part picnic festival, part family event, and part evening concert series. Mornings and afternoons focus on games, storytelling, and interactive family programs, while the evenings gradually turn into a full summer festival atmosphere.

The Neo-Renaissance Garden will once again host a wide range of free activities throughout the weekend, including:

• storytelling village
• traveling playground
• musical puppet shows
• interactive children’s concerts
• stilt walker performances
• community dance programs
• evening dance house events

The music lineup will feature a colorful mix of folk, blues, electronic music, and Hungarian traditional sounds, alongside several special evening performances.

On Saturday evening, Metha’s sunset DJ set will take over the Öntőház Courtyard, while inside the Event Hall a large symphonic concert will celebrate the golden age of French cinema through the iconic films of Alain Delon and Jean-Paul Belmondo.

Sunday’s closing concerts will feature Mujahid Zoltán, Group’n’Swing, and Keep Floyding.

Movie lovers can also enjoy open-air screenings at the Szárazárok stage, where cult Hungarian films will be shown in a unique summer setting.

One of the best things about VárkertFeszt is that it genuinely works for everyone: it can be a family day out, a relaxed afternoon with friends, a romantic evening concert, or a full-day summer hangout by the Danube.
