Molnárka tour

The Molnárka Challenge Hike returns to Soroksár on July 20, inviting outdoor enthusiasts to conquer the scenic trails of Molnár Island on three different distances. Whether you’re in for a relaxing walk or a serious endurance challenge, this event offers a 7, 13, or 21 km route — all starting from Tündérkert and designed to blend movement, nature, and community spirit.

Organized by Medvetalp Blog, this year’s hike comes with a new starting location and earlier start time: all distances begin at 8:00 AM, and the event closes at 4:00 PM. Participants receive a printed route guide (itiner) with a map and directions, and checkpoints along the way provide stamps or codes to verify progress. Every finisher is rewarded with a commemorative certificate, a pin, and refreshments at the finish line.

You can choose from three hiking options:

• Molnárka 7 km – a loop through the island and a detour along the Soroksár riverside.

• Molnárka Minimarathon 13 km – three full laps from peak to peak on the island.

• Molnárka Half Marathon 21 km – five full island loops for experienced hikers.

This is not a race, so participants can go at their own pace. Generous time limits are set at 3, 4, and 6 hours. Children under 6 participate for free. All others can enjoy discounted rates by registering in advance — until midnight, July 18 — and the event is part of the official TTT Cup (formerly Budapest Cup).

The start and finish line is at Tündérkert (Molnár utca 118), which is accessible by public transport or car (limited parking on the island). Nearby stops include the 66 bus, H6 HÉV line, and various regional Volánbusz routes (630, 655, 660).
