Dance Evenings

Looking for a unique summer evening experience in Budapest? The free folk dance series at Várkert Bazár offers live traditional music, dancing and one of the most beautiful panoramic settings in the city.

Held in the Neo-Renaissance Garden overlooking the Danube, these events welcome both experienced dancers and complete beginners. Professional dance instructors will help newcomers learn the basics, making the program accessible to everyone. Throughout the evenings, visitors can discover the music and dance traditions of different regions of the Carpathian Basin while enjoying the atmosphere of a summer night above the city.

Three outstanding ensembles will perform during the 2026 season. Fanfara Complexa brings authentic Moldavian Csángó and Balkan folk music, Pál István Szalonna and Bandája showcases some of the finest traditions of Hungarian folk culture, while Stenk adds a fresh and contemporary energy to the dance house experience.
