Platon Karataev, named after Lev Tolstoy’s character, was founded in Budapest in 2016 and quickly became one of the best and most popular quartet groups in the Hungarian guitar music scene.
Their 2017 debut album, For Her, put the band on the international map, and their songs have since been streamed millions of times around the world. The band’s second album, Atoms (2020), saw them move away from the acoustic direction they had been taking towards a louder, grander sound. The album is about searching for and questioning our innermost selves, with songs that sometimes plunge towards ourselves and sometimes move away from it.
