Pink Floyd was formed from a band formed in 1964. After the band disbanded, a few members – guitarist Bob Klose, bassist Roger Waters, drummer Nick Mason and later keyboardist Rick Wright – formed a new band called Tea Set. Shortly after their formation, they were joined by Syd Barrett, who became the band’s singer-guitarist. When another band wanted to perform under that name at an event, their lead singer Barrett named the band The Pink Floyd Sound.
